
The Illinois Western Railroad is a Class III linehaul railroad operating within the Howard M. Wolf Business Park in Greenville, Illinois. Greenville is located about 45 miles east-northeast of St. Louis on Interstate 70. ILW operates on a spur that connects with CSX's St. Louis Line.The Illinois Western Railroad Company has developed a comprehensive plan to develop the area between the CSX connection in the Wolf park and a Burlington Northern Santa Fe connection in the John W. Kelsey Business Park in Smithboro. Upon completion of the plan, ILW will have 14,000 feet of track and neutral access to two large railroad systems.
